Project Details

What we need
  • Proactively coordinate and gather requirements/support needed across the organisation, working closely with different teams (e.g. marketing, outreach, ceremonies, sports, arts & culture, village etc)
  • Help to define our product strategy and roadmap - Coordinate with third party vendors alongside the Project Management team to ensure features and functionality is delivered to specification
  • Provide regular project progress updates to the Management Team and Federation of Gay Games - Offering walkthroughs and journey demos
  • Coordinate the Quality Assurance and UAT process to ensure features and products are delivered correctly and function to expectations
  • Manage special projects/events together with wider project/management team
  • Experience with technology/project management tools like Monday, Jira, gitlab etc will be helpful
Background

Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2023’s (GGHK) is a fully volunteer-run initiative, and is a unique combination of sport, arts, culture, fun and community brings together diverse groups of people to experience moments of joy. It will create unity and positive attitudes that will last a lifetime in Hong Kong, Asia and beyond under our tagline “Unity In Diversity”. GGHK will take place on 3-11 November 2023, first time in Asia. We are expecting 12,000 participants, 75,000 spectators and 3,000 volunteers from 100 countries. There are 36 sporting events planned including new events Dragon Boat Racing, Dodgeball, eSports, and Trail Running, Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Festival Village, and Arts & Culture events with daily performances, a Gala Concert, LGBTQ+ art exhibitions, and a variety of events to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Gay Games. Everyone is welcome to participate regardless of ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, or background.

What we have

You will be working closely with other volunteers who also have FTE engagements. An onboarding programme will be provided to ensure you understand GGHK with the support of an international team.

Why this is important

As a Product Manager within the Technology Team, you will be helping to support both the Technology Leadership and the Customer Experience Leadership to gather requirements and ensure delivery of all projects around any of our digital platforms. This may include releases of new functionality and features for our customer-facing platforms such as our marketing website (GGHK2023.com) as well as internal processes around upgrades or changes to Google Workspace functionality, etc.
