Project Details

What we need
  • Respond to donation enquiries via phone or email
  • Help the warehouse reconcile deliveries when needed
  • Check and manage donations on our app GoodCity
  • Manage the office if required
  • Come once per week on Saturday; min period is 6 months but preferably it would be a year
Background

The Incoming Department is responsible for receiving shipments of donated goods. The administrator coordinates the drop-offs such that everything can be quickly dispatched and the department can run smoothly. They will also deal with potential donors by answering any questions they may have.

What we have

Training will be provided, as will the software and all the required equipment. A manager will be present to oversee and guide you throughout the process. Full-day volunteers are also more than welcome to stay for lunch!

Why this is important

By receiving and categorizing shipments, the Incoming Department enables the rest of the processing departments to operate at maximum capacity. The higher the processing efficiency, the better we can help those in need. The reuse of second-hand goods also reduces waste production.

What we do

Crossroads Foundation is a Hong Kong based, non-profit organisation serving global need. We believe that, in a broken world that sees too much suffering, we should do all we can to link those who are in need with those who can provide help. So we provide an intersection, literally a crossroads, to bring both together. • Global Distribution: This distributes Hong Kong's quality excess goods as needed, internationally and locally. It provides a crossroads between need and supply. • Global X-perience: This offers simulated x-periences of global need. It provides a crossroads between the lifestyles of the rich and poor. • Global Handicrafts: This sells fair trade goods from people in poverty. It is a crossroads between those needing a fair income and those with buying power. • Global Hand: This provides a 'matching' website for public- private partnerships. It is a crossroads between for-profit and non-profit organizations who wish to address global need.
