To contribute to building set/props/displays for our new project "Trail of World Need" or for working places around the site.
Our 90 acre commercial site is nestled between Tai Lam Country Park and the Gold Coast, and its beautiful natural environment, our Global Handicrafts Fair Trade Shop and Café attract a number of visitors as well as those joining our volunteer and simulation programmes. We are currently developing the site in various ways to help people understand more about Global issues, to envision them and enable them to take action.
Information and materials are available on site. We are happy to meet and speak to volunteers to discuss the project in more detail before they commit. Scheduling and times are flexible according to the volunteer's availability. The working hours is flexible according to the volunteers' own availability, no time commitment is required. However, it would be appreciated if the volunteers could work 2-3 times per week. The role of carpenter / set builder is ongoing, we would welcome longer commitment if possible. Dress code: Dress appropriately for work e.g. T-shirts / medium or long pants / closed shoes (runners) for warehouse safety. To respect the many cultures represented onsite, we ask that no one wears short shorts/skirts or spaghetti straps. Men, please do not remove your shirts if you get hot. There is no need for formal attire. Additionally, please bring mosquito repellent, sun/rain protection, personal water bottle which can be refilled at various water stations around the site.
We are currently developing the site in various ways to help people understand more about Global issues, to envision them and enable them to take action. Part of this development includes constructing a Global Village ‘Trail’ of Need: a walk-through series of displays demonstrating both challenges and possible solutions. Each will set up an environment to help bring the need alive in an interactive way and will also give practical suggestions for people to become involved. The goal is to make these educational, motivational and inspirational, and will contribute towards attracting more people to come to Crossroads and be a part of our mission.

Crossroads Foundation is a Hong Kong based, non-profit organisation serving global need. We believe that, in a broken world that sees too much suffering, we should do all we can to link those who are in need with those who can provide help. So we provide an intersection, literally a crossroads, to bring both together. • Global Distribution: This distributes Hong Kong's quality excess goods as needed, internationally and locally. It provides a crossroads between need and supply. • Global X-perience: This offers simulated x-periences of global need. It provides a crossroads between the lifestyles of the rich and poor. • Global Handicrafts: This sells fair trade goods from people in poverty. It is a crossroads between those needing a fair income and those with buying power. • Global Hand: This provides a 'matching' website for public- private partnerships. It is a crossroads between for-profit and non-profit organizations who wish to address global need.
