The Challenge

The New Normal was originally founded in the UK in 2018 and was expanding into Hong Kong in 2022. Being in a completely new region and specialising in grief and mental health support, they recognise the urgent need to localise their services and marketing materials. With only 1 English-speaking staff, they were seeking for bilingual volunteers to help with promotions and operations.

Our Solution

11 volunteers were recruited including 5 Bilingual Support Group Hosts and 6 Bilingual Content Creators. Their team has regular meetings with the Bilingual Hosts to learn more about the cultural differences, localising their support group sessions to Cantonese-speaking communities. So far, 3 sessions have been hosted and they are strategising to launch local language meetings in March this year. Empowered by volunteers, their Instagram (@tnnhongkong) has since posted bilingual content 3 times per week, reaching almost 300 followers within less than a year.

“Time Auction has thoroughly impressed me, and I recommend their services to everyone. They have exceeded all expectations. The quality of the volunteers sourced is incredible. I’m now able to grow the charity and better serve local Hong Kong service users. I’m excited to see the difference we can make together to improve access to free mental health and grief support in Hong Kong.”
