Project Details
What we need
- Go through the project brief to understand project process and guidelines
- Conduct a virtual training with an ethnic minority aged under 30 year old on ONE of the following topics: (1) CV Clinic (2) Interview Skills (3) HK Office Manners (4) Public Speaking (5) Time Management
- The training timetable is flexible and you can select which training session(s) you want to deliver
- Complete a 2-min feedback survey after training
Background
We observe that under-resourced ethnic minorities (EM) need assistance and training with their self-confidence and competence in getting a job. Due to the limited exposure to opportunities and training for internship/job hunting, it becomes a barrier for under-resourced EMs to land a job they want to pursue their career. We see that there is a gap in the employability in the community, and we hope to act as a bridge to reduce that gap through this project.
What we have
The Zubin Foundation will provide a project brief introduction on the logistics of the project - a one to two pager teaching material for each session providing guided questions on how to deliver the session - a training timetable that volunteer trainer to select training session(s) you want to deliver.
Why this is important
Through this online training project, EM youth would be empowered to: (1) how to create a better CV (2) prepare themselves to perform their best in interviews (3) how to behave professionally at work (4) gain confidence in public speaking and (5) how to prioritise and manage their time. With these competencies, EM's employability will be increased - Ultimately, getting a job is critical to break the cycle of poverty in the ethnic minority community and to enhance their self-esteem, which is the core of The Zubin Foundation's mission - providing opportunities and reducing suffering.
