Project Details
What we need
- Join one session of our buddy (volunteer) training
- Join at least 3 school-based workshops and be a mentor and a sports buddy to the young girls
- Female volunteers with passion and enthusiasm in sports would be ideal
- The Buddy Training is mandatory and will be held on 8 Oct, 10:00am-1:15pm at The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Building (香港青年協會大廈)
Background
The "Jockey Club InspiringHK SportsCHAT!" programme aims to support secondary school girls in doing sports, building confidence and protecting themselves. Female volunteers are recruited as “Sports Buddies” of the girls to participate in the activities together, share career advice and help broaden their horizons! The first three-year "Jockey Club SportsCHAT!" (2019-2021) programme ended successfully. We have reached out to over 2,000 teenage girls and 400 female volunteers, receiving great acclaim from various partners. The programme will renew for another upcoming three years (2021-2024) which is supported by the HKJC Charities Trust.

凝動香港體育基金是根據《稅務條例》第88條獲豁免繳稅的慈善團體，於 2012 年成立，一直秉承「以體育造就青年」的願景。我們的使命是為基層或有特殊教育需要的兒童及青年提供平等的體育培訓機會，同時透過體育宣揚性別平等、社會共融及健康生活理念。本會通過全港或地區體育培訓項目，以及公眾教育來實踐使命。過去十年，凝動為超過15,000位學員提供不少於510,000小時的專業體育培訓，而公眾教育活動則有超過26,000人次參與。 InspiringHK Sports Foundation is a local charity established in 2012, with a vision of developing better youths through sports. Our mission is to provide equal sports training opportunities for underprivileged children, youths, and those with special educational needs, at the same time promote gender equality, social inclusion and healthy lifestyle. We carry out our mission through district-based and territory-wide sports programmes and public education activities. Over the past decade, IHKSports has provided services to over 15,000 beneficiaries with more than 510,000 hours of professional sports training and a total attendance of over 26,000 at our public education activities.
