What we need

• Join us for a 1 hour kickoff call, potentially together with other selected expert volunteer(s), to learn more about the state of development of InspiringHK, discuss our current pain points and wishlist for digital transformation, and exchange thoughts on uplift opportunities. Based on the discussion, we will identify workstreams for the year and assign volunteer(s) to work with our full-time staff and board members on one or more of the workstreams, based on mutual agreement.
• In the assigned workstream(s) (e.g. CRM system for stakeholder/donor/beneficiary management, CMS for website management, internal knowledge management tool, enterprise software & workflow integration using Airtable, Workstamp, Xero etc.), advise the full-time team members on what to do to improve efficiency, strengthen impact and save costs, and offer practical guidance on how best to implement the digital solutions, project manage and mitigate risks..
• Where necessary and appropriate, help source, screen and monitor suitable vendors, configure the tools, provide training/guidance to staff and troubleshoot issues arising from the day-to-day operations.
• Together with full-time staff, take part in regular Digital Subcommittee meetings (monthly/bi-monthly) to report progress and roadblocks of workstream(s), and offer advice on other aspects of InspiringHK's digital transformation as appropriate.

Background

InspiringHK just reached its 10th anniversary and we are planning for the next 10 years of impact. A new Digital Subcommittee is setup under the Board in 2024 with an aim to engage passionate digital transformation experts who are willing and able to commit time & energy to join us in holistically reviewing pain points in our current operations, strategizing for digital initiatives to be implemented, and assisting the full-time staff team in driving a successful change along the way.

What we have

We have a full-time team of 20+ passionate staff led by our co-founder and Chief Executive, who can help bring our consultants up to speed about the current operations and answer any questions you may have in the process. Dedicated budget resources have been allocated for digital transformation initiatives and related procurements. The Board of Directors, comprising of young professionals from diverse fields, also stand ready to assist and help resolve any potential blockers in the transformation process.

Why this is important

InspiringHK has been rapidly growing in all fronts (# of beneficiaries, donor network, staff team size, program variety, donation income, etc.) in the last few years. The existing systems, softwares and processes (many of which are reliant on Excel, Google Docs, WhatsApp communications etc.) are no longer adequate to cope with such growth in personnel, data, information flows, and organizational complexity. Hence, the planned digital transformation project is going to lay crucial foundations for InspiringHK to reach greater social impact in the years to come.
