Join our program as STEAM leaders to gain opportunities working on curriculum design and teaching interships
This program is designed to train a new generation of STEAM leaders by providing opportunities to work on STEAM project curriculum design and teaching internships. After completion of the program, STEAMentors will: (1) Acquire skills in designing creative STEAM programs, crafting lesson plans, and defining teaching goals. (2) Enhance empathy, leadership, and problem-solving skills. (3) Be nominated as an HKCIN 'STEAMentor' Leader. (4) Gain access to paid internships and obtain a certificate upon completion.
To help volunteers get started, the project provides various resources. Volunteers will participate in 8 hours of Leadership Speaker Workshop and 8 hours of STEAM Project Design Workshop. Upon completing this, you can also participate in a 6 hours Paid Internship.
This project contributes to HKCIN's goals of advancing STEAM education in Hong Kong. By organizing STEAM workshops in local primary schools, the project helps to bridge the gap in STEAM education and expose students to hands-on learning experiences in these subjects. By actively involving volunteers who possess STEAM knowledge and can communicate in Cantonese, the project ensures that the workshops are conducted in a culturally and linguistically accessible manner, maximizing the impact on the student's learning outcomes. Ultimately, the project aims to inspire and motivate students to pursue further studies and careers in STEAM fields, supporting HKCIN's overarching mission of promoting STEAM education and fostering a generation of young innovators and problem solvers.
