Attend training sessions in summer, then become a volunteer listener for distressed students for a minimum of six months

- Active listening - volunteers will be on duty for ten hours each month to listen calls from distressed students

IMPORTANT: YOU WILL NEED TO JOIN ONE OF OUR INFORMATION SESSIONS ON 17/6 or 18/6 IN ORDER TO JOIN AS A VOLUNTEER - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSflHV2QwuXG8WVFHifUjuuo8jEqwWd0t4VqZvkuvgBaQpZ6gw/viewform A free listening service operating from 7pm to 5am every night, through an online texting platform and a hotline.Aims:1. to address the increasingly severe mental health issues among young adults and adolescents; 2. to achieve early intervention and prevention; and 3. to promote psychological wellbeing and mental health awareness at campus and school.
What we have
Four training sessions will be provided to volunteers in July. Additionally, there will be a trial session in August.
Why this is important
This project achieves our goal of providing peer-to-peer support for our callers.
