What we need

• Join a 20 mins briefing at San Po Kong and also collect equipment
• Set up the equipment on specific day, time, and location for auto data collection
• Ensure the data collection run smooth and prevent passers-by from disturbing if needed
• $225 subsidy per observation (under 3 hrs each）
• The task require to collect data outdoor in very hot days, please ensure that you are in good physical condition and good health
• Please state your availability in your application: 22,23,24 July

Background

We would like to compare the heat stress from different construction sites, to underscore the varying degrees of heat stress experienced by outdoor workers in different locations. Our analysis will further highlight the necessity for implementing measures tailored to these specific locations to effectively mitigate the risk posed by heat stress.

Why this is important

綠色和平希望通過推動更全面的勞工保障，以舒緩氣候不公。建造業工友為香港基建辛勞付出，面對的卻是嚴峻健康風險、甚至死亡威脅。雖然勞工處今年五月實行更新版的《預防工作時中暑指引》，但新《指引》沒有足夠的法律效力，所列的措施亦未有針對工友面對的實質情況，例如《指引》僅參考天文台在京士柏氣象站得出的暑熱指數，忽略在不同地方工作的戶外工友所面對的地區性差異。我們希望通過這次研究指出可以在各方面推動《指引》更針對工友實質困境，確保工友得到有效包障，減低可能承受的氣候風險。
