Project Details

What we need
  • Build relationships with potential partners and potential sponsors
  • Build relationships with charitable trusts, foundations and other institutional funds
  • Coordinate and manage fundraising opportunities across the organization, working together with the Marketing, Sports, Arts & Culture, Finance and Legal team
  • Update the overview of qualified opportunities on a regular basis to keep an accurate and healthy pipeline forecast
  • Volunteers with experience in working with NGOs or volunteer organisations are preferred
  • Solid oral and written communication abilities, with positive and proactive attitude and exquisite listening skills
Background

Gay Games is a fully volunteer-run organisation and a sporting and cultural festival which promotes diversity, inclusion and tolerance. The Gay Games 2023 will be held in Hong Kong and we are recruiting now for key members of our team! GGHK expects 12,000 participants and 75,000 supporters to join in 36 different sports competitions, a 40,000 visitor opening ceremony, a week-long festival village, and an exciting Arts and Culture program in November 2023.

What we have

You will be working closely with other volunteers who also have FTE engagements. An onboarding program will be provided to ensure you understand Gay Games Hong Kong. You will also be working with a dynamic team with support from different functions.

This role will support us extend our sponsorship opportunity with various different corporate clients.

What we do

Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2023’s (GGHK) unique combination of sport, arts, culture, fun and community brings together diverse groups of people to experience moments of joy. It will create unity and positive attitudes that will last a lifetime in Hong Kong, Asia and beyond under our tagline “Unity In Diversity”. GGHK will take place on 3-11 November 2023, first time in Asia. We are expecting 12,000 participants, 75,000 spectators and 3,000 volunteers from 100 countries. There are 36 sporting events planned including new events Dragon Boat Racing, Dodgeball, eSports, and Trail Running, Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Festival Village, and Arts & Culture events with daily performances, a Gala Concert, LGBTQ+ art exhibitions, and a variety of events to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Gay Games. Everyone is welcome to participate regardless of ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, or background.
