Project Details

What we need
  • Focus on providing localised content, supporting and working closely with the Customer Experience and Digital Content Management team
  • Actively manage and support content localisation for all digital platforms and channels - including active translation work, managing a team of volunteer translators, documenting process around content changes and localisation updates
  • Engage cross-functional teams in identifying translation needs and opportunities
  • Lead with passion and focus a team of globally located volunteer translators, project managing overall needs and specific projects
Background

You will help with managing all digital content and its translation process, crafting curated messaging for social channels in English, as well as Traditional and Simplified Chinese. Working with Hong Kong local community outreach teams to ensure our message continues to get across. In addition to functioning as the source of truth for all localization/translation processes, we are keen to see you grow in the role and help support our content strategy as a whole for all digital channels - supporting both Technology and Marketing. This role will report to our Marketing Director.

What we have

You will be working closely with other volunteers who also have FTE engagements. Hours of commitment may vary though the minimum expectation is 5 hours per week for regular meeting cadences and collaborative sessions.

Why this is important

Gay Games is a sporting and cultural festival which promotes diversity, inclusion and tolerance. The Gay Games 2023 will be held in Hong Kong and we are recruiting now for key members of our team! GGHK expects 12,000 participants and 75,000 supporters to join in 36 different sports competitions, a 40,000 visitor opening ceremony, a week-long festival village, and an exciting Arts and Culture program in November 2023.

What we do

Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2023’s (GGHK) unique combination of sport, arts, culture, fun and community brings together diverse groups of people to experience moments of joy. It will create unity and positive attitudes that will last a lifetime in Hong Kong, Asia and beyond under our tagline “Unity In Diversity”. GGHK will take place on 3-11 November 2023, first time in Asia. We are expecting 12,000 participants, 75,000 spectators and 3,000 volunteers from 100 countries. There are 36 sporting events planned including new events Dragon Boat Racing, Dodgeball, eSports, and Trail Running, Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Festival Village, and Arts & Culture events with daily performances, a Gala Concert, LGBTQ+ art exhibitions, and a variety of events to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Gay Games. Everyone is welcome to participate regardless of ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, or background.
