What we need

• Work with our program staff to create a curriculum about entrepreneurship tailored for EM youths/ migrant workers
• Teach 6 sessions (90 mins each) within 2 months with the support of EmpowerU program staff
• There will be approximately 25 students in each session
• Volunteers need to have extensive experience in understanding EM youths/ migrant workers, ideally have mentorship experience

Background

We will invite a local social entrepreneur to teach secondary school students the basic know-hows of starting their own business. The entrepreneur will teach them about ideation, marketing, budgeting, and finally guide them to pitch their ideas in front of other entrepreneurs.

What we have

EmpowerU staff will accompany them to the school and help facilitate the classes. We will also provide all the materials and help liaise communication with the students and the respective schools.

Why this is important

EmpowerU's mission is to help ethnically diverse students from under-resourced schools explore various different career pathways and plan a stronger future for themselves. Our community-led model emphasises on representation, where we invite ethnically diverse community members to spark curiosity and show new possibilities for the young minds.
