What we need

• Develop and implement the Earth App, a powerful platform for users to report their local climate impact, participate in community gatherings, and access environmental news and resources
• Collaborate with the Earth.Org team to conceptualise, design, and develop the Earth App, a comprehensive mobile application focused on climate activism and awareness; utilise your expertise in app development to create a user-friendly interface and seamless functionality for a diverse range of users
• Incorporate features that allow users to post their location, temperature, and weather conditions, and respond to notifications related to natural or man-made events
• Implement a news/content section with a ticker feed, delivering up-to-date environmental news and resources and social features that enable users to participate in community gatherings physically and digitally, fostering a sense of community and support for environmental change. • Implement a robust system to collect, anonymise, and aggregate user responses, allowing for the publication of global participation numbers and estimates of people affected by extreme weather conditions; ensure data security and privacy protection measures are in place to safeguard user information
• Collaborate with the Earth.Org team to gather user feedback, analyse user data, and make necessary improvements to optimise the app's functionality and user experience
• Ideally can develop in native code for Apple or have experience with Flutter will be a bonus
• ** Your level of commitment can be flexible depending on your availability and capacity, students are welcome to join as a summer internship! This can be discussed during the interview

Since our establishment in 2018, we have amassed over 750,000 users, partnered with 20 NGOs, and collaborated with 150+ contributors, enabling us to make a tangible impact.Leveraging our traction at Earth.Org, we’re launching a groundbreaking 3-month online radio station and podcast series right here in Hong Kong. We'll cover diverse global environmental topics and offer innovative solutions to tackle our generation's greatest survival risk. Through discussions with experts and frontline community members, we'll inform, educate, and advocate for change.
