Background

Was there a time when you felt lost as a DSE student? We felt just as lost as many of the current DSE students. Career planning is always a vital life question in personal growth. Nowadays, DSE students are under a lot of pressure. The project seeks to enable DSE students to hear their inner voice and identify their long-term vision and motivate them to take steps to pursue achievable targets. This project is distinguished into two parts — 1) 24 hours coach training and 2) 8 hours practicum to DSE students. Positive coach training sessions will be taught by professional coach, Fenix Lam who will deliver the essential concept, mindset, and skills to volunteers. Fenix is an Acting Executive Director of a coaching organization with over 10 years of experience in personal growth. Volunteers will then provide coaching services to DSE students to help inspire them to explore and boost their confidence in career planning.

What we have

Training sessions will be provided. The training period will be between 6 Mar to 31 May and will only be around 1.5 hours per week in preparation for coaching DSE students. Certificate will be provided to volunteers with 100% attendance.

Why this is important

"Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them” (John Whitmore, Coaching for Performance). We always believe that the youths are the future of Hong Kong. These days, Hong Kong students are under a great deal of pressure and anxiety. Coaching is a useful tool to help students hear their inner voice and find the right track in career planning. An inspirational dialogue may greatly help DSE students.
