Project Details

What we need
  • Ensuring quality and appropriateness for all Crossroads distribution to communities in need
  • Sorting, testing, labelling and packing goods for donation distribution
  • Keeping the processing rooms clean and tidy
  • Managing and reporting on all stock inventory
Background

The Household Department processes a multitude of household items ranging from bowls and plates to cribs and baby items.

What we have

Training will be provided, as will all the relevant equipment. A manager will be there to guide the volunteer throughout the process. Full-day volunteers are also more than welcome to stay for lunch!

Why this is important

With our organisation being fully ran by volunteers, your assistance is very much needed! Whether it's a warm blanket or a set of cooking supplies, what may seem mundane could save someone else's life. The Household Department packs and categorizes goods such that the right items go to the most needy.

What we do

Crossroads Foundation is a Hong Kong based, non-profit organisation serving global need. We believe that, in a broken world that sees too much suffering, we should do all we can to link those who are in need with those who can provide help. So we provide an intersection, literally a crossroads, to bring both together. • Global Distribution: This distributes Hong Kong's quality excess goods as needed, internationally and locally. It provides a crossroads between need and supply. • Global X-perience: This offers simulated x-periences of global need. It provides a crossroads between the lifestyles of the rich and poor. • Global Handicrafts: This sells fair trade goods from people in poverty. It is a crossroads between those needing a fair income and those with buying power. • Global Hand: This provides a 'matching' website for public- private partnerships. It is a crossroads between for-profit and non-profit organizations who wish to address global need.
