  • Test audio and visual quality of computers
  • Delete leftover data on donated hard drives
  • Occasionally repairing computers
  • Hardware/ technical experience is preferred but not required
  • Our full time staff are all volunteers, so your contribution will be highly appreciated and crucially required. A minimum attendance of 3 days a week for 3 months is required
Background

The Computers Department helps process computers in a highly technical environment so as to repair and repurpose them for those in need.

What we have

Training will be provided, as will all the relevant equipment. A manager will be present to guide the volunteer throughout the process. Full-day volunteers are also more than welcome to stay for lunch!

Why this is important

By supplying computers to both individuals and schools, we give those in need an opportunity to use technology to better their lives in sustainable ways. Some destinations of our processed computers include a women's training centre in Ghana and schools in Cameroon.

What we do

Crossroads Foundation is a Hong Kong based, non-profit organisation serving global need. We believe that, in a broken world that sees too much suffering, we should do all we can to link those who are in need with those who can provide help. So we provide an intersection, literally a crossroads, to bring both together. • Global Distribution: This distributes Hong Kong's quality excess goods as needed, internationally and locally. It provides a crossroads between need and supply. • Global X-perience: This offers simulated x-periences of global need. It provides a crossroads between the lifestyles of the rich and poor. • Global Handicrafts: This sells fair trade goods from people in poverty. It is a crossroads between those needing a fair income and those with buying power. • Global Hand: This provides a 'matching' website for public- private partnerships. It is a crossroads between for-profit and non-profit organizations who wish to address global need.
