What we do

CantoGather is a faith-affiliated, Christian-rooted organisation dedicated to loving our neighbours as ourselves. We empower Hong Kong’s multicultural community by bringing people together through language and intercultural education. In partnership with schools, we offer non-Chinese children professional, engaging Cantonese and Chinese language programmes to help them thrive in school and daily life. Beyond language learning, we foster genuine connections between Chinese volunteers and non-Chinese families, building bridges of understanding and friendship. Through creative workshops, storytelling, arts, and interactive activities, we provide welcoming spaces where children and families from all backgrounds can share, learn, and grow together. Our volunteers serve as tutors, mentors, and companions, supporting students individually or in small groups while nurturing confidence, cultural awareness, and a sense of belonging. With over 300,000 non-Chinese neighbours in Hong Kong—many of them young people—the need for support, inclusion, and opportunity is clear.
