Project Details

What we need
  • Lead literacy games that will help students improve their reading and writing skills while having fun
  • Work with students to develop and practise their presentation skills
  • Joining 2 sessions is a good start (minimum commitment for volunteers)! However, attending 8 out of 10 classes builds rapport through continuity, so we encourage you to join as many sessions as possible!
  • We will provide volunteer briefing and all class materials are prepared by our team
Background

Our Reading Marathon Program encourages children to read 20 storybooks in a year, with a well-structured online reading platform that cultivates reading habits and incentivizes persistence. Reading classes help reinforce skills learned, ensuring children develop a love of reading and improve their English proficiency.

What we have

We provide structured lesson plans with teaching materials to facilitate effective teaching, along with an online reading platform based on their individual English ability levels.

Why this is important

The reading marathon program helps students improve their reading skills and cultivate positive habits by encouraging them to read 20 storybooks in a year. With a personalized online reading platform, students can improve their English proficiency and become confident in their language skills. Incentives for completing the challenge can help motivate students to persist and achieve their goals, fostering a lifelong love of learning.
