Program Manager (Online Storytelling Program)
Manage volunteers and host storytelling sessions via Zoom

What we need
- Lead a team of 20+ volunteers in this English conversation program
- Interview suitable volunteers for hosting the Zoom Classes
- Run day-to-day operation of this program
- Be the substitute host of the class in case of emergency
- Commit 6 hours per week (3 for administration work and 3 on Saturday mornings 9:30 am - 12:00 noon to supervise the classes)
Background
"Conversations That Matter" Program Manager is an important leadership position in our organization. The Manager will oversee the entire operation of the program. This program is designed to engage Jr Secondary School students in conversations that matter to the students in the context of social-emotional growth and development, cross-cultural communication, diversity,… etc.
What we have
A well-structured organization, interesting and inspiring lesson plans, and a team of dedicated volunteers who will host 70 “Conversations That Matter” Zoom Classes in the academic year 2023/24.
Why this is important
The "Conversations That Matter" program is one of the 6 initiatives of Books & Beyond. The most challenging part of working with youth is getting a young person engaged in a conversation.Instead of a place of authority and responsibility, we take a genuine interest in them and the conversation that matters to them in the context of social-emotional learning.

Books & Beyond Reading Club is a Hong Kong-based organization providing free innovative English learning programs for students of lesser means.
