Project Details

What we need
  • We need a Curriculum Designer to create an interactive and engaging curriculum for our “Conversations That Matter” one-hour Zoom Class for junior secondary school students (around 13 years old). The curriculum will consist of 20 lesson plans which utilize storybooks, social media, newspaper articles, or TV shows to start a conversation where students will have the opportunity to express their ideas and opinions while engaging with the English language. The Curriculum Designer will be able to: - Use different digital format to optimize Zoom classroom learning experience - Conduct research on teaching materials to develop quality lesson plans
What we have

The curriculum of our model with P.6 students (11 years old)

Why this is important

The most challenging part of working with youth, let alone English language learning, is getting a young person to engage in a meaningful conversation.Instead of a place of authority and formality, we take the attitude of genuine care and interest for them in a way where the conversation would matter and appeal to them to converse in comfort. The conversation will not only allow them to speak English with confidence but also expand their horizon and enrich their learning experience.
