Background

This project aims to make an artistic documentary for a sawmill and timber factory with over 100 history in Hong Kong. The factory story is the story of Hong Kong from Second World War till the present day .Their story is the story of Hong Kong's development from 1940s to now. The factory is current on the border with Greater Bay Area, and is facing eviction in 1-2 years. By documenting this story, we are hoping to contribute to the cultural preservation for the largest (probably the last) sawmill factory in Hong Kong. More importantly, we are providing valuable educational material for our future generations to learn what Hong Kong has been through through this family story. This documentary aims to bring new perspectives for our future generations to look at Hong Kong historically, and bring new interpretations of what future means for Hong Kong.
