What we need
  • Propose your creative ideas to co-host our art-making sessions (Sessions will be hosted in early August)
  • Work closely with our team to ensure that it is feasible and to brainstorm ideas
Background

The Mills have been our venue sponsor to enable Arts for Good Foundation to make community engagement or socially engagement art without the limitation of space requirement. We are inviting collabrating artists to submit your ideas to do art projects together in August in a 2500 square feet indoor venue with students from diverse backgrounds.

What we have

We would like to invite artists who submit your creative ideas for a five-day art making session, which will take place in early August at The Annex at The Mills. We are hoping to co-create a meaningful and beautiful art project that will make a full use of the space generously sponsored by The Mills. Creating a meaningful art making educational experience is more than having an art teacher to do vertical instruction. Instead, we seek to create a beautiful and memorable experience for student beneficiaries; to let them feel the beauty of art, interact with the environment and their peers, and ultimately express their deep thinking and imagination at their own pace.

Why this is important

Arts for Good Foundation is a social enterprise with the social mission of fostering social inclusion through the soft power of art. The soft power we are delivering through our art projects are the power of imagination, the power of hope, the power of storytelling, the power of feeling, the power of giving, and the power of belonging. Art Making is one of the three pillar programmes for Arts for Good Foundation. We create beautiful and memorable art making experiences to let students feel the beauty of art, interact with the environment and their peers, and ultimately express their thinking and imagination at their own pace. We want them to feel socially connected and work with collaboration and solidarity, and to seek their own individual differences and collective commonalities. In the process of making, we are hoping to inspire “thinkers” and “makers” for our future society in Hong Kong.
