As a long-standing Lead Partner of Art Central and a leading patron of the arts in Asia, UOB is excited to present tightly-curated art programme at the Fair:
● Mountains Beyond is an interactive ink art installation by Hong Kong artist Yau Wing Fung, commissioned by UOB. The large-scale installation immerses audiences in an exploration of the profound effects of pollution on both humanity and the natural environment. By fostering interaction between man and nature through space and time, the artwork inspires viewers to consider human impact on our surroundings.
● The UOB Art Space will present the 2023 UOB Art in Ink Awards Winners’ Showcase and the UOB Painting of the Year Showcase. Winning artworks of the 2023 UOB Art in Ink Awards from Hong Kong and Mainland China, as well as works by the UOB Painting of the Year winners from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam will be exhibited at the fair. Through these paintings, UOB connects audiences with diverse regional cultural and visual dialogues while fostering artistic exchanges between Mainland China, Hong Kong and ASEAN.
● UOB presents a fireside chat titled Bridging Boundaries: Ink Art as a Catalyst for Community Connections on Sunday, 31 March, 2:00pm – 3:30pm. Led by Mr Kwok Kian Chow, Former Senior Curator of National Museum Singapore and Former Director of Singapore Art Museum, and Ms S. Alice Mong, President of Asia Society Hong Kong Center, the fireside chat how ink art can serve as a cultural conduit between China and ASEAN, and as an important intersection between culture, civilisation and shared experiences.
● UOB Art Academy presents a series of UOB Art in Ink Workshops covering a variety of genres, including abstract ink, traditional and modern Chinese ink as well as experimental ink. Priced at HK$100 per person per session, with discounts available for children and senior citizens, the proceeds will go to the UOB Art Academy Limited, a registered charity in Hong Kong dedicated to promoting art and fostering art education for less privileged communities. All workshops are full and online pre-registration has been closed.
25 volunteer hours must be completed during 21 Mar 2023 to 27 Mar 2024.
