The HK Phil presents more than 150 concerts over a 44-week orchestral season, from every Sept to Jul. For Jan to Mar 2022, our Principal Guest Conductor Yu Long conducts the magnificent Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no. 5 and a work by Bernstein with pianist Zee Zee. Hong Kong-born pianist Chiyan Wong returns to Hong Kong to perform Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto no. 4, while Korean pianist Jinsang Lee makes his debut with us playing the poetic Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no. 4. Our Resident Conductor Lio Kuokman and renowned composer, arranger and producer Johnny Yim present an array of Classic Cantopop favourites arranged for symphony orchestra. The popular film screening programme returns with the BBC Blue Planet II Live in Concert. Two intriguing “Symphony in Images” projects by distinguished photographer Tobias Melle. Stunning images will be projected on screen alongside Strauss’ An Alpine Symphony and Dvořák’s Symphony no. 9, From the New World. For details and future programmes, please visit hkphil.org.

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) is regarded as one of the leading orchestras in Asia. The orchestra’s annual schedule focuses on symphonic repertoire, with conductors and soloists from all around the world. The HK Phil runs extensive education programmes, commissions new works and nurtures local talent. Recording projects include a CD for children narrated in Cantonese, works by Tan Dun and Bright Sheng conducted by the composers, and Wagner’s Ring Cycle.
