Project Details
What we need
- Join a 30min briefing call (time and date TBC)
- Attend 2 hours of virtual mentorship session to feedback the competition teams (4:30pm - 6:30pm)
Background
Outlier Smart Living Innovation Challenge aims to spark youths in Hong Kong to not only have ownership towards the social issues that are prevalent in our society but also pioneer solutions to tackle them in the long-term through the framework of creating shared value. Through organizing this unique case competition, we have the following key objectives: - Breed outliers who not only see the problems in society, but see themselves as part of the solution - Advocate creating shared value as a tool of leveraging purpose-driven business assets to do social good. Participants will be divided into three case tracks, each of them is about one area of social issue in Hong Kong. They are a) mental health, b) education, c) circular economy and consumerism
What we have
Past project references will be provided for volunteers to have a better expectation towards the output given by the youth participants. There will be a briefing session to help mentors have good preparation and understanding towards the whole challenge.
Why this is important
AIESEC in Hong Kong hopes to empower youths to become the future leader of tomorrow. Youths do not only need to have good self-understanding, but also social understanding. This challenge allows youths to understand the social issues, at the same time see themselves as the solution. It allows them to be the first step as a leader, to have ownership towards the problem and be willing to solve it.
