What we need

• Understand the English articles written by the awardees
• Translate 2-3 English articles (around 500 words each) into Chinese
• Review the translation to make sure two languages are aligned

Background

Each year, we would publish a booklet for the Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award, which includes the sharing from the Winners of that year. By sharing how they strive for excellence and how they define outstanding, other students could be encouraged and inspired. As there may be non-Chinese speakers among the winners, we need your help to translate their articles into Chinese by keeping every message that the winners try to deliver.

What we have

The previous booklets and a glossary for the terms of the Youth Arch Foundation and the Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award would be provided. Volunteers may feel free to ask for help if they encounter any difficulties during the project.

Why this is important

Youth Arch Foundation have a mission to recognise and develop youth talents and the Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award aims to encourage promising students with outstanding academic, extra-curricular and community service achievements, and morality. Through the bilingual booklet, the story of our awardees can be shared with students from either Chinese or non-Chinese background. Therefore, this project is meaningful and indispensable to make the award perfect and achieve the goals.
