Support our current financial and accounting processes to improve timely and accurate reporting and management review
Project Details
What we need
- Verify transactions, identify discrepancies, and maintain accurate records
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
- Assist in preparing financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
- Perform the general ledger reconciliation
- Develop and manage budgets for programs and projects within the organization
- Finance, business or accounting background is a plus
Background
We seek a dedicated volunteer to assist our finance team. Tasks include general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
What we have
You’ll receive an orientation session to understand our organization’s mission, values, and accounting processes. Experienced team members working in the financial industry will guide you through your tasks, answer questions, and provide ongoing support. Regular check-ins will ensure you’re comfortable and progressing well.
Why this is important
Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring VOH’s financial sustainability as a nonprofit organization. Those who excel may have the opportunity to join the Management Team in the future.
