Facilitate our Nature Art Workshop for underprivileged children with special educational needs

What we need
- Assist the therapist/ SAF staff with activities in the garden in Cantonese
- Attend to children individually or in small group (e.g. toilet needs, escorting between sites)
- Please arrive punctually according to the session you selected
- Prepare yourself water, towels, sunscreen, insect repellent and medicine if needed
- Attended the Online Orientation is required (12 Nov at 4:30pm, or 15 Nov at 11am TBC) - Your application may be disqualified if you can't attend this session
Background
The Sovereign Art Foundation (SAF) is having an upcoming art project - Nature outing - and is recruiting some volunteers to support us. SAF is a charity founded in 2003 that uses the therapeutic power of expressive arts to support wellbeing and positive change in vulnerable children. This year’s Nature Outing will be held in Ma On Sha on 23 November, with the aim to appreciate nature and connection with nature through crafts making and floral printing.
What we have
We will provide a briefing for the volunteers to equip them with the activity goals, children’s need and requirements, so that they may best communicate with the children and facilitate the event effectively. Also, we will provide confirmation notes to volunteers after the recruitment. If you wish to join the coach with our students, please select the schedule and location in the form. - Morning Session: Kowloon Bay Pick Up at 0900 / Drop off at 1325 -Afternoon Session: Tsuen Wan Pick up at 12:55 / Drop off at 1730. Seats availability will be subject to enrolment.
Why this is important
This activity provides an opportunity for children to explore Hong Kong nature with art along with art therapists and horticulture therapists. This will fulfil our goal to nurture and increase children's overall wellbeing, social skills, and competencies and promoting positive life adjustment through the therapeutic power of art and nature.
