What we need
  • Sort second-hand clothes under the guidance of professionals
  • Understand the impact of fast fashion on the environment
  • Reflection upon the industry and our daily habits
Background

Redress is a pioneering Hong Kong environmental charity with a mission to educate and empower the fashion industry and consumers to reduce clothings negative environmental impact by shifting to circular solutions. One of the ways we do this is by increasing the re-sale, re-use and recycling of clothing. Through our Clothing Takeback Programme, we collect unwanted clothing from Hong Kongers, and then carefully sort it together with volunteers in order to redistribute it for re-sale at Redress' secondhand stores, re-use by those in need in our community through our work with 10+ local charity partners, or recycling. Our careful sorting process maximises the value of each item, better supports our charity partners by matching clothing with their specific needs, and reduces wastage.

What we have

Redress will provide safety and hygiene equipment (include gloves, masks, hand sanitizers, first aid kit, etc)- Please dress casually with closed-toe shoes and bring your own drinking water.- Volunteers are required to fill in the health declaration form on site.- Redress staff or the media may take photos or videos to record the activity for the purpose of sharing and promoting the charity’s work. Please inform a staff member on-site if you are uncomfortable with being photographed.

Why this is important

We are constantly promoting decarbonisation amongst youths in Hong Kong!

What we do

To transform Hong Kong into a more livable and sustainable city, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) has incorporated sustainable development into its core service direction, actively encouraging young people to focus on climate change and environmental protection. Through environmental education, practical action, and leading change at three levels, with youth taking the lead and mobilizing youth power, we aim to nurture and inspire them to become leaders in sustainable development. Together, we can participate in Hong Kong’s transition towards carbon neutrality and build a better living environment.
