What we need

• Our team will provide a 6 hours briefing to go though SoCO's mentorship guidelines with you
• Our main service targets are youths aged from 15 to 24, you will be paired with one youth throughout the year
• Mentor requirements: Age: 25 years or above/ Education: Degree or above /Work experience: Two years or more /Language: Able to communicate in Cantonese/Mentors are required at least a 1-year commitment
• Looking for mentors who are willing to share career experience, learning methodology and help the youths to build up positive thinking mindset
• Date and time is flexible, depending on your schedule with the youths

Background

With the generous support by the Community Chest of Hong Kong, SoCO will initiate “Engage for Change - Internship and mentoring for empowering the youth living in poverty” project since June 2023. The 3-year project included Mentroship. Each mentor is paired with a youth aged 15-24. Individual professionals are invited as mentor to enlighten the post-secondary youth in poverty, including sharing of career experience, learning methodology, building up positive thinking mindset and effective reflection model, as well as rapport building with professionals and social networking; Your kind participation would facilitate upward social mobility and improve the livelihood of the underprivileged youth.

Each mentor will participate in a 6-hour mentorship workshop : (For second stage of recruitment) 1️⃣ Workshop (Part I) Date available : 3 November (Fri) Time: 7pm-10pm Venue: 2/F, 117 Kweilin Street, Sham Shu Po, Kowloon, Hong Kong (SoCO Kweilin Street Office) 2️⃣Workshop (Part II) Date : TBC Time: 3 hours Venue: TBC ** The Youth Mentoring Scheme is an ongoing project, mentorship workshop will be arranged accordingly**

Why this is important

Corporate staff and individual professionals are invited to enlighten the post-secondary youth in poverty, including sharing of career experience, learning methodology, building up positive thinking mindset and effective reflection model, as well as helping youth to achieve their goals.
