What we need

• Join 1 co-creation meeting per month, 1 hour each
• You will be helping 1-3 SEN students to turn their illustrations into real-life products (eg. clothings, phone cases, etc.)
• Join the meetings with the group of 1-3 SEN students with guidance of staff (Optional)
• Assist the students to create 1-2 products for an exhibition in June 2024
• Looking for Cantonese-speaking volunteers, preferably with product design experience (but anyone is welcome!)

Background

The My Display programme is designed to support SEN students with intellectual disabilities. These students often struggle with finding job opportunities and may feel lost when it comes to planning for their future. The programme aims to equip them with the necessary tools, resources, guidance and direction to prepare them for life beyond school. The focus is on developing life skills, providing career exposure and helping students discover their passions. By reshaping the curriculum and providing tailored support, My Display aims to empower SEN students and give them the confidence they need to succeed in their chosen career paths.

Why this is important

This allows the special talents of students with intellectual disabilities and autism to be revealed to the public, rather than being limited to special education.
