To advise on legal implication of a potential merger between an NGO and a for-profit company
Certain founders of REACH are in parallel running a for-profit education center. Both entities do not only share the same vision but also similar education resources, volunteers/staff and network. Co-founders have tried their best to operate both entities in separate but we would now like to explore any legal complications as a result from a potential merger.
We will try our best to provide whatever the information required in order to assist with this project.
We are hoping to equip REACH with a revenue generating stream in order for REACH to be less dependent on donations. In addition, REACH will be able to tap into the existing resources and network of the existing for-profit entity which would maximise the outreach, impact and sustainability of our Reading Club Programme.

We believe story books are the most powerful and effective tool to build up students’ reading proficiencies. While we understand the importance of fostering stronger English skills, it is the ability to adapt, and transfer gained knowledge through reading that is the most crucial and sustainable means necessary for providing a better future for these children. In order to outreach and empower under-served students, our goal is to partner with schools to form REACH Reading Clubs so as to equip students with English reading skill sets via a systemic and explicit approach using story books, REACH’s trial-and-tested proprietary curriculum and teaching methodology.
