What we need

• Join us for an online briefing call to learn more about the project and information provided
• The team will provide you with articles, key information and data, understand the content and ask questions if there's any (1-2 hours)
• The number of posts will be delegated according to your availability and capacity (to be discussed)
• May have to translate the content from English to Chinese
• Create and present the details provided through simple and clear infographics which will be used as social media posts (3-4 hours)
• Open to volunteers with any experience, as designs will be created on Canva, and you do not need prior knowledge in the content of the article

Background

There're so much information of 1) sex and gender, 2) gender transition, 3) legal documents related to the local trans community, and 4) studies and guidelines from around the world, to be make known to our own community, and to the general public. These materials should be presented concisely for easier reading and understanding. We'd like to make use of our social media platforms to give these materials a much bigger audience.

What we have

We'll begin by sharing our own experience as a local transgender individual and part of the local LGBT+ community. After getting to know each other, we'll divide the reading materials to each volunteer according to their preference. Each volunteer will be followed by one of our members who is familiar with the same material. Volunteers may use our Canva Pro account, or any other infographic makers. The final product will be reviewed by our team.

Why this is important

Quarks aims at providing peer support to the younger generation of the local trans community, and improving our visibility to the general public. These begin with an understanding of sex and gender, and how we can have access to gender transition. Having the community and the public knowing about our legal rights and restrictions is also the first step to improve our legal status. Increasing studies have been made about the trans community from around the world. The data and its significance should be made more accessible to enrich the understanding of our community, and guiding transgender-friendly policies.
