Background

Project Change provides holistic support to youths arrested in the 2019 social movement in Hong Kong, including psychosocial counselling, legal referral support, and a comprehensive reintegration program.

What we have

The good news is that thanks to our partners and resource network, we already have a concert hall venue reserved, a volunteer art director with tremendous experience onboard, and a few artists lined up. What we need most need is support in coordinating these resources, planning and execution.

Why this is important

The concert marks an important milestone in Project Change’s two-year journey. The concert will mark as an occasion for our youths, our supporters, donors, partners to gather and reaffirm our collective commitment towards caring and supporting our next generation.

What we do

Over 10,000 people were arrested during the 2019 social movement in Hong Kong, of which around 6,500 were under the age of 25. Project Change is a boutique NGO that aims to help these 6,500 youths overcome hardships. Founded in 2020, our strictly politically neutral services include psychosocial counselling and family therapy, legal support, and a comprehensive reintegration program that helps youths identify life opportunities in education and career development. To date, we have provided services to around 300 individuals, including supporting over 130 youths and 150+ of their loved ones. Project Change is steered by a cross-disciplinary team of professionals, with expertise in social work, therapy, psychiatry and legal services.
