What we need

• Format 12 NGO information sheets as PDFs, currently on Word documents, in accordance with a specific layout design. The documents are guides for NGOs in Russia that want to move or open operations in other countries. The documents have been translated into Russian already. Many of the guides have already been completed, with just 12 remaining that we need help with.
• Volunteer will receive (a) a file containing the completed guides to refer to; (b) a folder to be opened on Adobe containing the fonts and other relevant formatting requirements (PILnet has an Abode subscription you can use); and (c) a folder containing the 12 Word documents to be formatted.
• Volunteer should possess skills in graphic design, proficiency in Adobe tools preferred
• Understanding Russian would be an advantage but is not a requirement

Background

We are preparing a Global Guide for NGOs in Russia that want to move or open operations in other countries. The guide will be an important and useful tool for these NGOs to understand the laws and procedures of opening operations in different countries. We have finalized guides for many countries already, but have a number still to finish. Volunteer will format the rest of the guides by referring to the completed ones. Note that the documents are all written in Russian; however, the task involves copying and pasting the text into a new format, so it is not a requirement to be able to read Russian (although it would be a slight advantage).

Why this is important

Due to the instability in Russia for the past year, more and more Russia-based NGOs are considering moving or opening operations in other countries. We are aiming to provide free resources to these NGOs. Through our Global Guide, the NGOs would understand the basic legislation and procedures for setting up an NGO in other countries. This could help them carry on with their mission and help those in need.
