What we need

• Support Mind HK in designing and creating an impactful and memorable exhibition
• Join a design briefing phone call with Mind HK on theme, concept and needs of exhibition
• Create mood board and concept with Mind HK anti-stigma team
• Communicate closely with anti-stigma team on design and exhibition content needs
• Join bi-weekly 1-hour Zoom calls to catch up on progress
• Support with exhibition assemble on 5th August 2024 (10am - 3pm)

Background

Our exhibition titled, 腦地方見 —— 一起走過的地方 Brain back memories - Places we’ve walked together, will explore the themes of walking together with people with lived experiences of mental health and their recovery journey. We want to highlight locations around Hong Kong where people have experienced pivotal moments in their mental health recovery journey by themselves and with loved ones. We want to highlight the concept of 陪伴同行 walking together/alongside within mental health recovery and welcome our Mind HK Ambassadors and local artists to showcase their unique stories through text, photography, and artwork. Our exhibition will consist of a collection of stories and photographs from Mind HK Ambassadors, and artwork from a collaboration with a local artist . We will also host mental health storytelling sessions throughout the 10 days to complement the exhibition and encourage interactive components. We welcome the gallery to share these events, which will be free-of-charge, and the exhibition with its mailing list/following; we are happy to allocate a certain number of spaces at events for you, should this be preferred.

What we have

Branding guidelines, photograph and written content from our ambassadors will be included and shared with you. These include: (1) Photography Highlights - Showcasing photographs of memorable locations associated with mental health recovery. Each display will feature a photograph alongside a headshot of the individual, accompanied by a written piece detailing their mental health journey. (2) Stories Highlights - Headshots of the ambassadors and their recovery stories, with powerful quotes on the wall. (3) Artist Artwork: In collaboration with local artist Erin Hung, we commissioned an artwork aligned with our exhibition theme. her work aligns with our exhibition theme and will be used for the campaign to ensure consistency. Alongside the exhibitions, there will be a live mural painting to foster conversation around the importance of mental health.

Why this is important

This is our annual large scale anti-stigma campaign exhibition showcasing our ambassador's lived experience stories. This event aligns with Mind HK's mission and vision in ensuring that no one in Hong Kong has to face a mental health problem alone and to remove the associated stigma mental health has.
