What we need
  • Join our bi-weekly 30-60min catch up calls to discuss on our progress, brainstorm ideas, and review our work together
  • Creating grant proposals aligned to our funding needs, in collaboration with the Head of Fundraising and other Heads of Offices.
  • Collecting and presenting quantitative and qualitative reporting content from different teams across the organisation.
  • Editing and proofreading all fundraising content shared with the donor community
  • All tasks are delegated based on your availability and capacity, you'll be working very closely with the team
  • Proficiency in English is sufficient - Fluency in Cantonese is a bonus for the team as we'd appreciate local translation and appropriation
  • Experience in non-profit organizations, especially in programmatic and fundraising initiatives is a nice-to-have
Background

We aim to raise more essential funds from international foundations and corporate organizations, to advance access to justice for vulnerable migrant workers. You would be involved in writing funding proposals to law firms like Clifford Chance, Skadden, A&O, Merck, Hong Kong Legal Walk, as well as Aaron and Cecile Goldman Family Foundations, SAGE Fund, HKEX etc. You would also be involved in assisting f2f fundraising activities, like Happy Hour on a Mission.

What we have

Writing, branding guidelines and access to previous collaterals will be provided. Volunteers should have their own laptops with Microsoft Office products and the ability to communicate via web applications (email, calendar) throughout the day.

Why this is important

For every HK$585 raised, it supports filing costs at the Magistrate Court. For HK$1,465 raised, it supports one client’s pre-litigation costs before filing. For every HK$2,839 raised, it would support one client’s cross-border claim in court. For HKD$5,860 raised, it would assist our capacity building programmes, supporting client intake in local villages with one mentee organization. This could fast-track our mission of making justice as mobile as migrant workers.

What we do

Founded in 2013, Justice Without Borders (JWB) is a regional non-profit advancing transnational access to legal assistance for migrant workers. Focusing on those who have suffered labor exploitation and human trafficking, we address the unique strategic and logistical issues that lawyers and clients face in bringing cross-border claims. We also work to scale up our impact by imparting our expertise to a growing network of frontline NGOs, law firm partners, and government agencies, so others can take on the work of cross-border access to justice. Justice Without Borders, because justice should be just as mobile as migrant workers.
