What we need

• Over 21 years of age, of good moral character, willing to devote time and effort for training and mentoring
• Attend a mentorship training program
• Keep in contact with mentee at least once per month, sharing life experiences, providing guidance, support, attention and care
• Optional to develop a career orientation introduction of your field of expertise (through video or workshop)

Background

From 2008, the Child Development Fund (CDF), a tripartite, cross-sector collaboration among the community and family, the business sector and the Government, aims to support longer-term development of children from a disadvantaged background, with a view to alleviating inter-generational poverty.CDF funds projects operated by NGOs and schools, encourage children to plan for their future, through three key components, namely Personal Development Plan, Targeted Savings and Mentorship. Training and value-added activities are also provided to participating children, their parents and mentors to help cultivate a supportive environment for the children's personal development.

What we have

A mentorship training program will be provided to all incoming mentors, with online resources and a coordinating team on hand to assist mentors.

Why this is important

This youth mentorship program is for 3 years and will help the project operators help their community empower youth towards addressing intergenerational poverty. ILM strives to support ethnic minority empowerment initiatives for communities to develop Social Changemakers.
