Project Details

What we need
  • We are looking for talents who are proficient in business and conversational written English and Traditional Chinese
  • Ad-hoc English editing and Chinese-English translation. These will typically be for short documents, email communications and newsletters.
  • The specific scope of translation, estimated time required and required turn-around time can be agreed between us before each task.
Background

We are looking for appropriate talent who can support the team in professional English editing and Traditional Chinese/English translation of documents, newsletters and email communications related to the Impact Incubator. The scope of translation, estimated time and required turnaround can be agreed before each task.

What we have

Once a suitable candidate is identified, we will have on-boarding calls and regular check-in calls with the volunteer. The volunteer will have 1-2 contact points from the Impact Incubator.

What we do

Impact Incubator is a three-year incubation programme that provides local social innovators and social entrepreneurs with knowledge, resources and networks e.g. to social welfare agencies, social enterprises, philanthropic foundations, business associations and professional bodies. This programme aims to support incubatees implement innovative solutions to poverty and social exclusion problems in Hong Kong, and drive sustainable impact. In early 2020, the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIEF) re-appointed the Impact Incubator as an Intermediary to re-launch the programme. In the five years from 2015 to early 2021, the Impact Incubator has supported nearly 130 social innovation projects, and targeted more than 22,000 beneficiaries. The Impact Incubator also facilitated around HKD100 million of grant funding on behalf of the SIEF. Social innovation projects at late prototype, start-up, growing and scale-up stages are eligible to apply for SIEF grant funding via the Impact Incubator.
