What we need

• Join us for a 30 minutes call to learn more about our organization and event details
• Capture footage of our event on 5-6 July from 9:00am to 6:00pm
• Shooting equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring yours along
• No dress code requirement
• Prefer volunteers who can participate in both days, but we also welcome one day volunteer!
• (Optional) Help us edit some highlight videos for promotion purpose, details can be further discussed

Background

Hong Kong Open Source Conference 2024 (HKOSCon 2024) is a premier event that has been fostering the open source community and promoting open source innovation across various industries since 2013. This year lead by Hong Kong Creative Open Technology Association (HKCOTA), in collaboration with the Open Source Hong Kong (OSHK) and Hong Kong Linux User Group (HKLUG), continue to deliver a pivotal event for tech professionals, developers, industry leaders, and enthusiasts from around the globe.

What we have

A briefing will be provided to align the expectations, objectives and goals of the event. The team will be supporting you along the way. Volunteers can choose to attend the weekly Wednesday meetings depending on the progress of our preparations.

Why this is important

This event aims to promote Open Standards, Free and Open Source Software, Open Hardware, Free Culture Works, Open Content and Creative Commons. The recorded videos can help raise public awareness on our event and mission.
