English Tutor
Help us teach underprivileged and underachieving students English in a community project
Project Details
What we need
- Provide one-to-one / one-to-five tutorials (all teaching materials will be provided) - Schedule will depend on the availability of the tutor and the student
- Work 4-6 hours per week (Required to tutor each assigned student twice a week, 1 hour per class)
- Monitor students’ learning progress
- Record learning objectives and give feedback to each student
Background
We are currently seeking for 5 additional part-time English tutors to participate in a community project which commenced in November 2021. The project aims to provide face-to-face English training for kindergarten and primary school students (including those with special education needs) from low-income families in Tai Kok Tsui to consolidate their English foundation. In addition to a remuneration package, this is a great opportunity to take part in community service projects and to further your understanding of SEN students and early educational development.

What we do
Hong Kong Christian Shuen Tao Church is a non-profit organization. We are committed to serving new immigrants, single-parent families, and underprivileged individuals within the community through different forms of services over the last 7 years. Current services include food bank, women developmental course, SEN support program, etc. In sight of the community’s increasing spiritual and relational needs, we have recently placed a stronger emphasis on the strengthening of family relationships, as well as the biopsychosocial and spiritual development of underprivileged families. A family service centre has been opened to provide more space and services to underprivileged children and families, to support and growth with them in love and care.
