Background

Sham Shui Po is one of the poorest areas in Hong Kong. Many new young immigrants settle here or even live in subdivided flats. With scarce resources, it is difficult for them to adapt to learning and living in Hong Kong. It is hoped that with the assistance of mentors who are college students or working youth, this project can help new young immigrants adapt to Hong Kong as soon as possible.

What we have

1. 1 hour pre-service briefing session 2. Program fee and materials 3. All sessions are supported by a social worker 4. 15min/session debriefing after service

Why this is important

1. To establish a peer support network for new arrivals and young participants2. To enhance the sense of self-competence of new arrivals and young people in Hong Kong
