Presenter/Trainer (Know Your Rights)
Conduct and present the module of the "Know Your Rights" training for domestic workers
Project Details
What we need
- 10 Volunteers, minimum age requirement is 21
- Attend a 1 hour online briefing prior the event (date & time will be confirmed after volunteer signed up)
- Volunteers will need to do approximately 2-3 hours of background reading at your their own time and pace
- Volunteers will need to do a 2 hours practice session with other volunteers before the actual session
- Commit to 1.5 to 2 hours on a Sunday to conduct at least 1 session. We highly encourage volunteers to do more sessions, but it is not mandatory.
Background
Know Your Rights is one of the basic training HELP provides for free for migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong. This training equips migrant domestic workers with a better understanding about their rights and responsibilities in Hong Kong. HELP is looking for volunteers to conduct and present the first module of their Know Your Rights training.

We will provide (1) Briefing pre-event (2) Training Materials (3) Paid zoom account to use for online training (4) Venue for offline training
Why this is important
Through this project, we will engage migrant domestic workers to equip them with the necessary knowledge concerning their rights and responsibilities around their basic rights and responsibilities. Through providing information and training on the basic rights of domestic workers, it is hoped that they will be able to make informed decisions.This is part of the HELP’s effort to ensure that migrant workers are empowered to access justice and fair and equal treatment. an effort to fight against domestic poverty and inequality, through ensuring access to justice and fair and equal treatment. To make sure that migrant domestic workers understand their rights and responsibilities in Hong Kong. The first module will cover the basics i.e. the employment contract, rest days, wages and food allowance.
