Background

As of 2020 there were 373,000 Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) serving over 355,000 Hong Kong homes. Despite their contributions in taking care of Hong Kong’s household, kids and elderly, they are often faced with sudden termination, harassment or bad working conditions. HELP is looking for volunteers to help us present our modules related to domestic worker rights around termination and end of contract.

What we have

We will provide (1) Training (2) Presentation slides (3) Briefing pre-event (4) Paid zoom account to use for online training (5) Venue for offline training (6) Trainers fee of 500 HKD per training per volunteer

Why this is important

By learning how to understand their rights and responsibilities in relation to termination and end of contract, we hope that migrant domestic workers can avoid exploitation and wrongful acts.
