What we need

• Looking for 10 English-speaking volunteers to conduct rights-based presentation for domestic workers. Bahasa, Sinhala, Tagalog speakers are also welcome.
• Volunteers will need to attend a 1 hour online briefing prior to the session (date & time will be confirmed after volunteer signed up)
• Volunteers will need to do approximately 2 hours of background reading at their own time and pace
• Volunteers will need to do a 2-hour practice session with other volunteers before the actual session, this will probably be conducted in person
• **Volunteers will have to commit 2 hours on a Sunday to conduct a training for Know Your Rights face to face session at least for 1 time. We highly encourage volunteers to do more sessions, but it is not mandatory.**

Background

HELPing Hands is one of the basic training HELP provides for free for migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong. This training equips migrant domestic workers with a better understanding about their rights and responsibilities in Hong Kong. HELP is looking for volunteers to conduct and present the training to migrant domestic workers.

What we have

(1) Pre-event briefing, (2) Practical session for reviewing content materials, (3) Presentation slides and supporting content materials

Why this is important

Through this project, we will engage migrant domestic workers to equip them with the necessary knowledge concerning their rights and responsibilities. Through providing information and training on the basic rights of domestic workers, it is hoped that they will be able to make informed decisions. This is part of HELP’s effort to ensure that migrant workers are empowered to access their rights.
