Project Details

What we need
  • Attend 1 hour briefing call and 2 hour educational class for Migrant Domestic Workers on Sundays
  • Communicate closely with our team in English
  • Help to take attendance, ensure that participants fill in a form, manage technical set-up, take photos throughout the class, and ensure that the venue is left in a good and clean condition
  • Volunteer can choose which Sunday to participate
  • The schedule will be provided during the briefing call
Background

Our HELPing Hands Educational Programme is a basic training HELP provides for free for migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong. This training equips migrant domestic workers with a better understanding about their rights and responsibilities in Hong Kong.

Why this is important

The HELPing Hands Educational Programme provides domestic workers with comprehensive and practical knowledge about their rights and responsibilities. By participating in this program, domestic workers will gain a deeper understanding of their legal entitlements, workplace protections, and obligations. The program aims to empower them with the information they need to navigate their employment situations confidently and advocate for themselves effectively.

What we do

HELP for Domestic Workers is an NGO working on the frontlines to support migrant domestic workers to gain access to justice and fair and equal treatment in Hong Kong. Since 1989, we have supported migrant domestic workers through advice, assistance, education and empowerment. We equip the employers of domestic workers with knowledge and awareness so that they can build a mutually beneficial relationship with their domestic workers.
