Project Details

What we need
  • Looking for students with a solid academic background with an interest in nonprofit sector (previous experience in NGOs is advantageous)
  • Work with our team at the office during weekdays (flexible hours between 10am-6pm)
  • Conceptualise and implement marketing campaigns
  • Designing and presenting new social media campaign ideas
  • Write and design engaging social media content for Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Monitoring all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback
  • Working with vulnerable interviewees and confidential information
  • Work on fundraising campaigns, research on potential funding sources
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Communications
  • Experience in Canva is required, with a firm grasp of social media and campaign development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A good team player with a “can-do” attitude
Background

Established in 1989, HELP for Domestic Workers is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong. Through our core pillars of Preventing Crisis, Responding to Needs and Building Resilient Communities, we strive to address the unique needs of both migrant domestic workers and employers.

What we have

Onboarding session and ongoing guidance will be provided to interns on communication platforms, branding guidelines, and current fundraising campaigns.

Why this is important

The project will support HELP in empowering migrant domestic workers by enhancing communication and improving fundraising efforts. By raising awareness of their challenges and developing targeted strategies, HELP can effectively articulate their needs. Building strong donor relationships secures vital resources, enabling better advocacy and support programs that enhance the rights and well-being of migrant domestic workers.

What we do

HELP for Domestic Workers is an NGO working on the frontlines to support migrant domestic workers to gain access to justice and fair and equal treatment in Hong Kong. Since 1989, we have supported migrant domestic workers through advice, assistance, education and empowerment. We equip the employers of domestic workers with knowledge and awareness so that they can build a mutually beneficial relationship with their domestic workers.
