Become a volunteer listener for distressed students for min. of 6 months (training required)

What we need
- You are *REQUIRED* to join one of our information sessions on in order to join as a volunteer (Dates: 10, 18, 20 Jun)
- Looking for volunteers who are equipped with active listening skills or are passionate in this topic
- Volunteers will be on duty for 10 hours per month to accept calls from distressed students
- Free listening service will be offered to students from 7pm - 5am every night, through an online texting platform and a hotline
Background
Our program aims: 1. to address the increasingly severe mental health issues among young adults and adolescents; 2. to achieve early intervention and prevention; and 3. to promote psychological wellbeing and mental health awareness at campus and school.
What we have
Four training sessions will be provided to volunteers in July. Additionally, there will be a trial session in August.
Why this is important
This project achieves our goal of providing peer-to-peer support for our callers.
