Background

Hagar is delighted to be hosting our inaugural '100 Women Unbroken' event on Wednesday, November 29 at Soho House, Sheung Wan, to mark the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery. Alongside an incredible selection of food and drinks, this evening will include remarks from Hagar International Global CEO to share the critical work Hagar is undertaking, stories from survivors of modern slavery, and an exploration of the powerful 'Unbroken' campaign, including a message from kintsugi artist, Yoko Kawada, and the opportunity to view her work for the campaign for the first time in Hong Kong. Hagar’s work is vital to transforming the lives of women and girls who have experienced some of the most extreme forms of abuse, in some of the most challenging areas around the world, with all proceeds from the evening going towards Hagar’s critical work against modern slavery.

What we have

Soho House is a stunning, creative space with great photo opportunities. Hagar can provide guidance on key shots needed from the evening but creative license to shoot in your style, is yours! You would need to come with your own camera and kit for the evening.

Why this is important

This critical fundraising event helps support Hagar's work globally.

What we do

Founded in 1994, Hagar is an international NGO dedicated to ending the cycle of trafficking, slavery, and abuse, with programme delivery in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar and the Solomon Islands. Hagar does this by providing survivors with safe and secure accommodation, counselling, legal support, education and help to find suitable employment, as well as working to prevent trafficking, slavery and abuse by educating communities and raising awareness, and advancing legal and legislative practices alongside governments and judicial systems.
